Our story began in a real barn in Hopkinton, MA in the Winter of 1997 - in the backyard of Mark and Lisa Verrochi. Mark is a retired Navy Special Operations Officer and Lisa, a Registered Nurse. After returning to New England from the Pacific Northwest, Mark and Lisa saw an opportunity to launch their entrepreneurial Seattle-style speciality coffee vision. A premium coffee roaster for over 20 years, the grassroots company has helped pioneer the speciality coffee revolution in Massachusetts. Red Barn has grown into its Upton roasting facility, servicing its 10 cafes and a wide network of wholesale customers.
